Approved agrichemical handlers

Peak to Peak are approved agrichemical handlers, which means we’re qualified and licensed to use a range of products not available to the general public. We’ve been treating weeds on Queenstown properties and sections for over 20 years.

Why it matters that we're approved handlers

Agrichemical handling in New Zealand is regulated for good reason, the wrong product, the wrong dilution, or the wrong timing can damage or kill plants you want to keep, contaminate waterways, or simply not work on the weed you’re targeting. As approved handlers, we know which products to use for which weeds, how to apply them safely, and how to protect the surrounding garden and environment in the process.

We’re also fully insured, so if something unexpected happens you’re covered.

What we treat

  • Broom and gorse
  • Blackberry and briar
  • Dandelions and broadleaf weeds
  • Paspalum, kikuyu and other invasive grasses
  • Clover and lawn weeds
  • Willow weed and docks
  • General scrub and weed infestations on sections and lifestyle blocks

If you’ve got a weed problem and you’re not sure what it is or how to deal with it, just get in touch, we’ll identify it and recommend the right approach.

Selective spraying — targeting weeds without harming your garden

One of the biggest advantages of using a qualified handler is access to selective herbicides that target specific plant types without affecting everything around them. This means we can treat weeds in a lawn or garden bed without damaging the grass or plants you want to keep, something that’s simply not possible with the general-purpose products available at hardware stores.

We’ll assess your situation and recommend the most appropriate product and method for the result you’re after.

Spraying as part of section clearing and maintenance

Spraying is often the most effective long-term solution after a section clearing job, cutting vegetation back gets it under control quickly, but follow-up spraying is what stops it coming back. We regularly combine section clearing and spraying as part of the same job, and can include ongoing spraying visits in a regular maintenance programme to keep weeds from re-establishing.

One-off jobs and ongoing programmes

We handle one-off spraying jobs for homeowners who have a specific weed problem, and we include regular spraying as part of maintenance programmes for clients who want their sections and gardens kept weed-free year-round. Either way, we’ll give you a straight-talking quote and let you know what to expect.

Approved Agrichemical Handlers

Sometimes chopping, pulling, and slashing is just not enough

As Approved Handlers we have access to a variety of chemicals not available to the general public.  Some chemicals are very specific and selective, meaning we can target specific plants or weeds in your garden or lawn that won’t hurt the plants around them.  Talk to us about options that may suit your garden or section.
